One Weekend in Atlanta: A quick guide

Last night, I had dinner with some clients from Phoenix and New York and they asked me, “What is there to do in Atlanta?” Basically, they have one weekend here…What should they not miss? I gave them a few pointers and I hope that you all can add some more!

  • Spend an hour going through Dialog in the Dark. I went a few months ago and wouldn’t trade that experience for the world! And honestly, Atlantic Station is general is pretty awesome. Good food, good shopping, good times. Plus, it’s an awesome experience that you can’t get anywhere else.
  • Be a kid for a little while and go to Zoo Atlanta. This is another one of my family favorites, but I think that adults can really enjoy it too. Who doesn’t love baby giraffes, adorable warthogs and super lazy pandas? It’s a great weekend, no matter what age you are.
  • Spend a day downtown and visit the World of Coca-Cola and the Georgia Aquarium. You can check out both with a CityPASS {along with lots of other places} and they’re so close together that transportation is not a problem. Just park in one of the easily accessible parking garages close by and spend a day checking out those attractions and just hanging out in Centennial Olympic Park.
  • Check out Underground Atlanta.  Unfortuantely, I haven’t gotten to go down to Underground Atlanta since I moved here, but I’ve been down there several years ago and loved it. It’s got shopping, food, entertainment and some great Altanta history. What’s not to love?

I’ve only been here for three years….some of you have been here your whole lives. What do you think of this list? What would you add for an unforgettable weekend?
